Serving Our World

Each year the Mission Team takes time to set priorities and focus of where our mission dollars and efforts will be invested.  Western Hills continues to support cooperative programs but we also enjoy having personal relationships with missionaries we support.  By focusing on a few mission efforts, Western Hills can be very intentional in our support, mission trips and prayer for our partners.

International partnership

Charles and Shannon Worthy serving in Naples, Italy with the International Mission Board.  Charles was a staff member at Western Hills and has moved with his family to Naples to share the love of Jesus.  We are also active in our participation with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

State partnerships

When Hurricane Ike hit the gulf coast, many churches were destroyed.  Through our partnership with the BGCT, we have connected with a church from that region.  Over the past year we have been down to Raywood, TX to work alongside Pastor Chuck Fontaine at the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

We have also partnered with Literacy Connexus and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship to travel to Eagle Pass and participate in literacy events along the Texas – Mexico border.  These events provide literacy training, book shelves and reading materials for families.

Local partnership

In an effort with Trinity Hills Baptist Church in Benbrook, the Tarrant Baptist Association and the BGCT, we are helping support Pastor Eloy Gonzales as he works to start a church in Fort Worth.  Eloy’s work is primarily with the Hispanic speaking population of south west Tarrant County.  We also support River Point Church, which is creating a church that unchurched people will love in Fort Worth.
